Why Choose Us?
When you're facing a family dispute, knowing what to do next can be difficult. For many people, the cost of instructing a solicitor simply isn't realistic but navigating applications, documents and family court alone can feel overwhelming.

MyDispute was created for that gap. Practical, personal support to help you understand what needs to happen, prepare properly and move your case forward at an accessible cost.

Affordable Support
Getting help shouldn't depend on being able to afford substantial legal fees. We provide practical support and case preparation at an accessible cost, so professional help is within reach for more families.

Someone in Your Corner
You won't simply be treated as a case number. We take the time to understand your situation, what has happened so far and the issues that matter, so the support you receive is relevant to your case.

Clarity Through The Process
Family court proceedings can be difficult to navigate, particularly if you have never experienced them before. We help you understand what needs to happen, what you need to prepare and what comes next.

Support From Start to Hearing
Whether your family dispute is just beginning or court proceedings are already underway, you can access support at the stage you need it — from initial preparation through to the hearing itself.
Background

MyDispute was founded by Nick Carter to help people approach family disputes and financial matters with greater clarity, confidence and practical support.

Throughout his career, Nick has worked with people facing a wide range of personal and financial challenges. His background spans more than 25 years in business, finance and leadership, where he has seen how closely financial circumstances and personal lives are connected. His approach has always been to listen, understand the individual situation and help people find a practical way forward.

Nick’s strength is making sense of complex situations. He combines financial understanding and analytical judgement with the ability to ask difficult questions sensitively, identify important information and turn complicated detail into clear, manageable steps.

For someone dealing with separation or divorce, those skills have a practical purpose: helping organise financial records, make sense of income, expenditure, assets and debts, and prepare information clearly for financial disclosure and discussions with legal professionals.

Nick also brings first-hand experience of navigating the family court system, including preparing applications and evidence, attending hearings and dealing with court orders.

He understands that the difficulty is rarely just the paperwork. It is managing uncertainty, making important decisions and trying to keep everyday life moving while dealing with something deeply personal. Even a straightforward task can feel overwhelming when it concerns your children, your home or your financial future.

That experience helped shape MyDispute: a service where people can explain their circumstances, feel heard and receive practical help with getting organised and preparing for what comes next.

Nick combines more than 25 years of experience in business, finance and leadership with first-hand knowledge of navigating the family court system. He is also studying towards an LLB (Honours) degree with The Open University. His approach brings together careful analysis, attention to detail and an understanding that behind every document is a person dealing with decisions that matter deeply to them.

MyDispute brings together Nick’s financial experience, practical skills and personal understanding of the family court process.

The aim is to help people feel more informed, more organised and better prepared—whether that means bringing order to financial documents, preparing material for a solicitor or finding a manageable starting point when everything feels overwhelming.

At the heart of that approach is a simple belief: understanding the paperwork starts with understanding the person.
How it Works
Tell Us What's Happening
Tell us about your situation, what's happened so far and where things currently stand. You can also send us any relevant court papers or documents so we can understand the background and what you may need help with.
Understand Your Options
We'll review the information you provide and discuss where we can help. We'll explain the support we recommend, what we'll do and the cost involved, so everything is clear before you decide whether you'd like to go ahead.
Prepare & Move Forward
Once you're ready to proceed, we'll provide the agreed support — whether that's preparing an application or statement, organising evidence and case documents, preparing for a hearing or supporting you through the different stages of your case. You'll know what needs to happen next and be properly prepared for it.
